The idea of INC 82 came to us one day while trying to figure out where to go to eat in our local area. Realizing that the choices in Dublin are pretty scarce when it came to non-chain restaurants, we decided to create our own, because that's what all people do, right? We started working with an executive chef to produce a mouth-watering menu and a brewmaster to brew the greatest beers. Mmmmmm beeeeeeer........ Together, we created a microbrewery and restaurant with a hip environment where you can get local beer, cocktails, and freshly made food. Why the name you ask? Well, the city of Dublin was founded in 1835; however, it didn't become an incorporated city until 1982, hence the name INC 82. Our program also includes a spiritual element. We welcome children of all faith to St. Clare’s so we keep a light touch on this part of our program. We talk to the children about God loving us all, about prayer for those we love, we tell some simple bible stories and sing a song and do a dance. This all takes place on Wednesday morning (for about 20 minutes) in our Church which is right alongside the Preschool. We take the children into the Church because we want them to learn that we behave differently in a holy place, than we do in class or on the playground. Explorers is VPP’s outdoor nature program and is taught by credentialed Early Childhood Teachers and a California Naturalist. Classes are designed for children and their parent or caregiver to learn, grow, and explore the beautiful outdoors together. Each session allows families to spend time outside together (rain or shine!) while enjoying age appropriate songs, stories, games, art, and hikes at local nature areas. Classes are open to all families in the community as well VPP members. A list of class locations will be sent out a week prior to the start of class. Class locations are typically within 35 minutes of our school in Danville and often repeat from session to session as the seasons change the landscape and surroundings each time. In the 1940s, Evelyn Overton found a recipe in her local Detroit newspaper that inspired her “Original” cheesecake. Everyone loved her recipe so much she decided to open a small bakery, but eventually gave it up to focus on raising her children, David and Renee.
