I love this zoo. Been coming here all my life. I love the smell when you walk in - the eucalyptus trees smell, the animal smell, the food smells. I associate pink popcorn with this place.

The monkey enclosures are wonderful. Parking is good and the animals are treated well. Plus, this is a very underrated zoo - there are some lame zoos out there but not this one - not on the scale of the San Diego zoo but probably the second best zoo in California and maybe the west coast and that says a lot.

I have t-shirts and cups from here I use a lot. I love this place. It has dear memories for me and is a place I will frequent until I pass.

A great zoo that for the longest time had a lot of neat residents, like an albino alligator. Lots of fond memories of this location as a child,
and it's one of the best values for entertainment around, especially with other zoos located across toll bridges or over an hour away.

Fun fact, part of this zoo extends over one of San Francisco's waste water treatment plants (zoo on the roof), but despite this, you would never know by the smell--or maybe the natural aromas of the zoo mask it so well?

Kid friendly and accessible. There seem to be numerous (free?) electric vehicle charging stations in the paid parking lot, so that may help make up your mind as to whether or not you'd like to pony up for a closer spot to the front entrance. Otherwise there's plenty of local street parking available, should you wish to go that route. Note that you should double-check if there are any restrictions where you park (e.g. 1 hour parking vs unlimited parking).

What a beautiful day in the bay.
We love the SF zoo. We got lucky, all the animals was so interactive. My little 3 year old loved it so much,we closed the park and she cried when we had to leave. What a great experience, we made rsvp online. Got there no line, scanned our tickets and went right in.
