Resurrect is a mix of handmade clothing, jewelry, apothecary, and accessories from artists and designers from Oakland and beyond. The store is a rotating art gallery featuring a new local artist every other month. Resurrect's mission is to promote local artists and designers and educate consumers about the many perks of buying sustainable fashion!
Kate Morrow has been in the retail industry for over 15+ years and worked in many different types of retail fashion stores ranging from main stream corporations to small mom and pop shops.
Kate also creates her own line of clothing that she sells in the shop. She has curated and participated in numerous fashion shows, including one at the MOMA in Phoenix, Arizona. She has a keen eye for craftsmanship and knows quality of construction.

Home Consignment Center - Danville
Home Consignment Center remains a two family owned and run business. In the spring of 1994 Christine and Johnny Crowell were considering opening a furniture store patterned on Johnny’s successful antique auto consignment business. Jamece and John Fondnazio joined them forming a partnership that has lasted for twenty plus years.
The partners had a business plan that promoted high quality furniture and accessories priced to sell from the outset. The partners rejected the traditional consignment approach of initial overpricing coupled with automatic markdowns. Home Consignment Center was built on the concept of great stuff at great prices, and it’s a fun place to shop.
That first year was exciting, if exhausting. The partners worked every day and without employees. This allowed them to learn every aspect of the business, first hand. When the first employees were hired HCC initiated its policy of no commission salespeople.
HCC shares it’s profits with its employees, monthly, through a store bonus system that recognizes that there are many components to success. HCC has been lucky in having great employees many of who treat the stores as if they were their own business.
Based on the great support from the community surrounding the first store in Danville, HCC has continued to grow, adding 14 additional locations in California and Texas. In 1995 HCC began adding jewelry stores to its locations and they are now recognized as a great place to consign or buy fine jewelry, too.
As Home Consignment Center’s sales have grown to over fifty million dollars a year, they have attracted the attention of the furniture industry. Now, many furniture factories consign their samples, closeouts, over runs or other new product, much to the advantage of the HCC customer.

Ever since I was a little girl my parents loved to cook, it was always something I knew connected them. My father Edgar Plascencia has always been one to throw ingredients in and vioala you have your meal, my mother Margarita Quintero has her specialties, from carnes en su jugo, to tortas ahogadas. We strated off making 10 plates a day to go and try to sell to different companies, my father worked two jobs while my mother worked part time and then slowly it turned into her attempting a sale in her food. Now the funny thing is that our intentions was never to open a restaurant, it was always to just have whats necessary for our family and thats it. Eventually we went to the city and we were informed that we needed a commercial kitchen in order to be able to sell food, so with that news we started searching for a small kitchen only to be able to make the 10 plates.
So one day, we were driving home and my mother being the curious and impulsive person she is, decided to stop by this little place and ask if the hall kitchen was available, we got the blessing to speak with the beautiful Abby Devoto, she was amazing about everything and she let us know that, that kitchen wasn’t but that there was indeed another kitchen in what use to be the golf course cafe, available. Little by little it started to grow and eventually Abby had the idea of a restaurant, to my parents it was crazy but then she told the HOA and gave them the idea and such, my parents finally gave in and said “lets do it”. So our small family business began and we started off so small, we’d even have time to nap, but little by little it began to grow more and more and now we are where we are, all of this thanks to God, my parents, Abby and Mike Devoto and our amazing customers who have been there from the beginning trusting that we make a good meal coming from that small kitchen,we always will and have tried to give the best of us for your satisfaction, I can honestly say, I Naxly Plascencia am the proud daughter of two amazing people who I was blessed to be given as parents.
