My father Edgar Plascencia has always been one to throw ingredients in and vioala you have your meal, my mother Margarita Quintero has her specialties, from carnes en su jugo, to tortas ahogadas. We strated off making 10 plates a day to go and try to sell to different companies, my father worked two jobs while my mother worked part time and then slowly it turned into her attempting a sale in her food. Now the funny thing is that our intentions was never to open a restaurant, it was always to just have whats necessary for our family and thats it. Eventually we went to the city and we were informed that we needed a commercial kitchen in order to be able to sell food, so with that news we started searching for a small kitchen only to be able to make the 10 plates. So one day, we were driving home and my mother being the curious and impulsive person she is, decided to stop by this little place and ask if the hall kitchen was available, we got the blessing to speak with the beautiful Abby Devoto, she was amazing about everything and she let us know that, that kitchen wasn’t but that there was indeed another kitchen in what use to be the golf course cafe, available. Little by little it started to grow and eventually Abby had the idea of a restaurant, to my parents it was crazy but then she told the HOA and gave them the idea and such, my parents finally gave in and said “lets do it”. Mobility Matters

Mobility Matters is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that provides mobility management services in Contra Costa County. Mobility Matters is facilitating collaboration and coordination between public and private transportation providers, creating a network of integrated options that primarily address the mobility needs of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income individuals. In addition to working with other transportation providers on their programs and services, Mobility Matters offers some programs and services directly. Our overall goal is to see that the programs and services we offer contribute to our clients’ primary goal, which is to age in their own homes with the support they need. We are significantly increasing our clients’ opportunities for healthy aging by providing our services to them, especially escorted rides to obtain the clinical care they need, as well as the basic necessities of life.
