Mobility Matters is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that provides mobility management services in Contra Costa County. Mobility Matters is facilitating collaboration and coordination between public and private transportation providers, creating a network of integrated options that primarily address the mobility needs of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income individuals. In addition to working with other transportation providers on their programs and services, Mobility Matters offers some programs and services directly. Our overall goal is to see that the programs and services we offer contribute to our clients’ primary goal, which is to age in their own homes with the support they need. We are significantly increasing our clients’ opportunities for healthy aging by providing our services to them, especially escorted rides to obtain the clinical care they need, as well as the basic necessities of life. Pickleball for All The Walnut Creek Pickleball Club was created to share this great sport with people of all ages and skill levels. Join us for round robins and barbecues, or just come out and play at our courts at Rudgear Park in Walnut Creek. We hope to see you on the courts! WC Pickleball Club and the City of Walnut Creek Our club has been steadily growing with a membership of over 700 members in 2022. In 2015, in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek our club raised $10,000 to put in four dedicated pickleball courts. In September 2018, we were able to raise $18,000 and added four more dedicated courts. Since 2016 our club has worked with the City of Walnut Creek by participating in Community Service Day where picnic tables have been added, new tan bark laid down and debris cleaned away from the courts and fences. In 2020 and the years following when Community Service Day was not possible due to Covid 19 our club also participated in the Community Food Drive which received 39,000 pounds of food donations for the Contra Costa Food Bank. Our club is proud to contribute to the beautification of the pickleball courts at Rudgear Park. Eventually we went to the city and we were informed that we needed a commercial kitchen in order to be able to sell food, so with that news we started searching for a small kitchen only to be able to make the 10 plates. So one day, we were driving home and my mother being the curious and impulsive person she is, decided to stop by this little place and ask if the hall kitchen was available, we got the blessing to speak with the beautiful Abby Devoto, she was amazing about everything and she let us know that, that kitchen wasn’t but that there was indeed another kitchen in what use to be the golf course cafe, available. Cellar 13 Winery focuses on making high quality, award winning wines using fruit from only the best Vineyards. Darin Winton, the Winemaker, is one of the few Native American Winemakers in the United States. To honor his Cherokee Heritage, Cellar 13 Winery has proudly used the Cherokee language for their 2 Bordeaux style blends - the Right Bank Bordeaux style blend is named “Aliheliga” (“Grateful” in Cherokee) and the Left Bank Bordeaux style blend is named “Tsogadu" (13 in Cherokee). Art work featured on the back of these two labels are original works from Darin’s Uncle, Cherokee Artist, John Balloue. Having had a successful career in Water Services, Darin retired in 2017 and was immediately hired as the Assistant Wine Maker at 3 Steves Winery in Livermore, CA. Given the chance to learn about wine making from start to finish at 3 Steves, Darin was later afforded the opportunity to make wine under his own label. Wood Family Vineyards

Sparks flew in Yosemite during the spring of 1984. Michael’s eyes captured Rhonda’s across a crowded room at the Lodge. Over glasses of wine, conversations were shared, addresses exchanged, and a relationship ensued. Their first home in Fremont overlooked Weibel Vineyards where they dreamed of one day owning their own vineyard. At their second home, also in Fremont, they planted 18 vines. Before these vines reached maturity, they discovered Crane Ridge Vineyards in Livermore Valley. They purchased property with 8037 vines and built their dream home. Wood Family Vineyards winery shortly followed. Rhonda took a leave from her career as an airline pilot to handle the winemaking. Michael, a CFO, helps out where he can and enjoys the fruit of their labor, especially the award winning Chardonnay, his favorite. The winery operations have been moved to their current location and the tasting room opened in June 2017. Their oldest son, Harrison, has taken on the role of Executive VP. They have a strong commitment to each other and to the celebration of life, family and friends. This same commitment carries over into making luscious handcrafted wines.
