Its 350+ members are a diverse and wide-ranging representation that include two national laboratories, major manufacturers – clean-tech, green-tech – wineries, microbreweries, restaurants, retail, hotels, mining, healthcare systems, financial institutions and many more. Collectively, LVCC members represent nearly 30,000 jobs and generate millions of dollars in revenues and economic benefits in the Livermore Valley. Member businesses and their employees also support the local community through volunteerism activities and millions in financial contributions.
Located in the heart of Livermore’s Downtown District, the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce serves as the city’s Visitor Center. LVCC enjoys a long legacy of business leadership in the local community. The Livermore Chamber of Commerce filed its articles of incorporation with the office of the California Secretary of State in 1937. But evidence shows that this chamber was active as early as 1927. (See scanned brochure). Since then the Chamber has been operated by professional staff with oversight and guidance provided by an elected board of directors. In 2011, the Livermore Chamber of Commerce board of directors approved changing the name of the organization to the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce, reflecting the reach of the organization beyond city limits.

Darcie Kent Vineyards
Darcie’s great, great grandfather, Fritz R. Ruegsegger, came to America with his family from Switzerland in 1875 to pursue a career in winemaking. In 1883, Fritz’s son and Darcie’s great grandfather, Christian Ruegsegger started his own winery, the Alpine Winery, in St. Joseph, Missouri, which held bond #62 in the United States. Along with managing the vineyards and all winemaking tasks, Christian hand painted his own wine labels. The Alpine Winery bottled its last wine in 1945, when hard times following the repeal of Prohibition forced the family to shut down operations.
Darcie Kent now proudly carries on the family tradition as a fifth generation vintner and artist for the winery that bears her name, Darcie Kent Vineyards. Like her great grandfather before her, Darcie uses her original art for her wine labels and strives to capture the unique spirit of each vineyard and its owner, in her breathtakingly beautiful labels that grace each bottle.

Brightworks School
Brightworks and Tinkering School were shining examples of what makes child-centric learning transformative, in spite of the pandemic. Faced with so many challenges, it would have been easy to just do the bare minimum and wait for better days, but instead, across every program we saw innovation. From the engaging tinkering kits we sent home with every student, to the development of entirely new kinds of distance learning like the Mars Project – which connected summer camp kids to robots in a scale model of a lava tube – our staff created ways to keep students engaged and motivated.
Our work in these programs stands out against the backdrop of incremental change in education as an example of what can be done. Our explorations have had an incredible impact on the lives of children around the world, who have been inspired to ask questions, build new skills, and believe more in their own abilities. We have inspired educators through our Curious Educators Program to make bold moves in their own practice, changing the way children experience learning. Together we are re-imagining education and testing those ideas, we are acting as an engine of creativity.
Our programs continue to evolve and innovate, reminding the world that learning is a collaboration, that childhood should be amazing, and that everything is interesting.
