Mobility Matters is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that provides mobility management services in Contra Costa County. Mobility Matters is facilitating collaboration and coordination between public and private transportation providers, creating a network of integrated options that primarily address the mobility needs of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income individuals. In addition to working with other transportation providers on their programs and services, Mobility Matters offers some programs and services directly. Our overall goal is to see that the programs and services we offer contribute to our clients’ primary goal, which is to age in their own homes with the support they need. We are significantly increasing our clients’ opportunities for healthy aging by providing our services to them, especially escorted rides to obtain the clinical care they need, as well as the basic necessities of life. As a result, our clients experience improved health status through access to preventative health care, medical, mental health, dental appointments, surgery, prescribed medications, and proper nutrition along with exercise. Pickleball for All The Walnut Creek Pickleball Club was created to share this great sport with people of all ages and skill levels. Join us for round robins and barbecues, or just come out and play at our courts at Rudgear Park in Walnut Creek. We hope to see you on the courts! WC Pickleball Club and the City of Walnut Creek Our club has been steadily growing with a membership of over 700 members in 2022. In 2015, in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek our club raised $10,000 to put in four dedicated pickleball courts. In September 2018, we were able to raise $18,000 and added four more dedicated courts. Since 2016 our club has worked with the City of Walnut Creek by participating in Community Service Day where picnic tables have been added, new tan bark laid down and debris cleaned away from the courts and fences. In 2020 and the years following when Community Service Day was not possible due to Covid 19 our club also participated in the Community Food Drive which received 39,000 pounds of food donations for the Contra Costa Food Bank. Our club is proud to contribute to the beautification of the pickleball courts at Rudgear Park. We were very excited for Community Service Day to return in 2022 and had the opportunity to beautify our courts once again. [read more]
